Hamburg is one of Germany’s most fascinating cities, attracting people from all over the world with its unique blend of harbour flair, cultural diversity and a history that is reflected on every corner. With the support of the Bachner Foundation, our five scholarship holders John Cherfils, George Onyango, Abdou \u2018Salam\u2019 Camara, Victor Lievano and Paola Sitti set off by train at the beginning of June for a weekend in the Hanseatic city. <\/p>\n
For Paola Sitti, the first female scholarship holder of the Bachner Foundation, it was her first study trip. Paola is from Togo and has only been living in Germany since this year. She was deeply impressed and showed great enthusiasm for gathering new impressions, discovering the diversity of Hamburg and learning more about the history of her new home country. <\/p>\n
A journey that connects.<\/strong><\/p>\n In Hamburg, the five Bachner Foundation scholarship holders took a city tour that included visits to the town hall, the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, HafenCity and St. Michaelis Church. They saw the musical The Lion King and had the opportunity to soak up the cultural atmosphere on a harbour tour. A visit to Miniatur Wunderland broadened our scholarship holders’ horizons. The virtual reality experience enabled them to move freely on a large playing field and experience adventures together as a team in a digital world.
